DIY Rhomar Flush/Fill

Our 2021 Tab 400 is due for a glycol change and originally shipped with the new Rhomar water. Does anyone have an updated DIY guide to draining old Rhomar water and replacing it? We recently had to sell our tow vehicle so I can't take it to the dealer anytime soon.

    There is also this 30 page, 6 year in the making discussion thread that has many examples of how other owners have performed this task.  This link goes to the last page, and if you page backward you can see the pictures of how it is done.  If you start at the front (six years ago!) you can learn more about the Alde and how it works than you can imagine.  There are so many smart owners here.
    There are a couple of ways to do the exchange, and if you read closely, there are methods that use a simple pump and methods that use a shop vac.

    I'll add that there is nothing to update with regard to the Rhomer water. As long as you are not changing brands of glycol, the exchange procedure is the same as it was for the Century glycol.

    Trust @ScottG He literally wrote the book on how to do a glycol exchange. Did mine this summer with the help of his guide and some folks on the forum. Ended up being ridiculously easy to do. Seems intimidating at first but once it was done I was literally telling myself “That’s it?”

    Because you’re simply doing a Rhomar replacement the process is about as easy as it gets. The only hard part is working out air bubbles but even that isn’t hard. Just need to know where the bleeder valves are.

    The hardest part seems to be finding the Rhomar fluid at a reasonable price.

    @Horigan Yes, this really is the hardest part of the entire process. There's a place up in Sequim, WA who sells 5 gallons for $100 (as of this April when I checked). They're a national chain that supplies businesses. Unfortunately their location near me in Utah wouldn't allow them to ship or sell it to me. Quite the bummer. The closest they could ship it was to a location in Idaho 4 hours from me.

    @MarkAl I don’t know if this helps but Consolidated Supply in Dalton Gardens, ID quoted me $158 for a 5 gal bucket a few months ago. Local pickup and about a week to get it in. 

    I just changed mine yesterday. Probably one of the last 2021s with the Century fluid. As was said earlier, it’s not that hard. More intimidating than difficult, especially the first time.
