I have a 2021 T@B320s Boondock with the Yakima rack installed. I purchased a 27 pound Pelican 80X Kayak. Has anybody ever installed something similar on their Tab and were there any issues or regrets, tips ot tricks?
Thanks in advance, Mal.

I know a few owners have done this with bicycles--not sure about kayaks. My impression is that the Boondock rack is not particular substantial. While it may be able to hold 27lbs of static weight, but kayaks make for pretty big sails, and I would be a little concerned about the drag pulling both the boat and rack off the trailer.I'm curious to hear if anyone else has pulled this off, or has any further insight.2015 T@B Max S (320)

I have seen a photo in the past with two kayaks installed on the rear rack but unfortunately I cannot locate the source of the photo. I thought it might be on the forum but I cannot find it.

Long time kayaker here in North Texas with a 2018 T@B 320S. While the rack might support the weight of the kayak think it will be problematic with the wind stress against it going down the highway since it will be sticking up. Personally, I'd get a rack for your tow vehicle. I no longer have my two 12 ft hard shells kayaks and use an inflatable craft now because didn't want the expense of a rack, it's impact on gas mileage and the hassle of loading and unloading it.2018 TAB 320S

Kind of a cooky idea but will it fit into the camper? If it does that might solve a few issues, no wind resistance, no rack expense, no potential for damage to the existing rack on the T@b...

I wouldn't do it. Side wind pressure from passing trucks can be problematic. The air being forced sideways in the front of a truck can have a force of up to 100mph at highway speeds. Think about how it sometimes pushes your heavy car and then how much force could be put on the side of a kayak on that rack that's just screwed into the roof. Rack on the tow vehicle would be the way to go.2021 T@B 320 S Boondock
