water pump power problems

2021 TAB 320S.  Connected to shore power everything works. Disconnect from shore power and lights, refrigerator, tv and radio work UNTIL the water pump engages either by turning it on with inside or outside switch or opening any value. Reconnect to shore power and everything works, pump included.  No blown fuses, no tripped breakers and the batteries are at 100%.

Any comments or ideas as to what's happening?

Thanks

The water pump draws relatively high current.  If your battery is marginal it could easily pull the system voltage too low for the other loads to operate.  When connected to shore power the converter has no problem delivering higher current and maintaining proper system voltage.
Measure battery voltage while the pump is running with and without shore power to verify this guess...

  • I completely concur with rfuss.  look at the voltage at the battery with pump on and with pump off (off of shore power..  I suspect it is dropping below 11v when it is on...  I had the same issue and it turned out my battery was toast.

  • interesting. Except that the power completely shuts down when I turn the pump on,  But I'll check.
  • What battery do you have?

  • I have 2 Lionenergy Safari UT 1300s
  • Upon further review, and a YouTube video search, one battery is at 80% and the second is at 60% charge.
  • I would also clean the battery terminals and cable ends.

  • The 'power center' will shut down if it does not have enough operation voltage...  that will take down everything

    How are you measuring that?

  • By pushing the button on top of the battery.

I have a LiON energy battery too. I don't know how accurate those lights are. Was your trailer connected to shore power when you checked the battery SOC with the idiot lights?

  • Didn't mean to ghost anyone, just been out of town. Appears to be a battery/charging issue, like you all said.
The TAB is parked in my driveway, facing north, in a fairly shaded spot, so the solar panel gets limited sun. It's noon and the vitron app says the charger is off. It's been that way for a week. I checked the "idiot lights" yesterday afternoon and they were at 20 and 40. Nothing, lights, fan, tv, water pump, would come on.
Connected to shore power last night, disconnected this morning, ILs were at 100%. Everything worked. Did not check water pump though. left everything on and am watching ILs to guess power consumption.
