Disadvantages of Removing Outside Trim?

I am looking at a 2020 model 400 that has a couple of pieces of the top trim missing. It will cost $540 to purchase the two pieces and then I have to install them. Is there any disadvantage in terms of water leakage to just remove the remaining trim rather than replacing the missing pieces? Thanks!

    Also can I substitute some trim insert to fit in the track like the models without the big trim?

    Just talked with Nucamp and they said no risk of leakage.

    The trim is cosmetic.  So, you can remove it and use something else if you wish.
