Can a different model of the WFCO converter be installed?

I have a 2016 320 with a WFCO Ultra III Power Center (Model WF-8735P and WF-8740P-on the manual) and wondered if a WFCO 8955 PEC converter could be installed in its place (from a 2020 unit)? Thanks.

The 89xx series is physically much larger than the 87xx models and the actual converters are different too.
What problem are you trying to solve ? -
Thanks @Grumpy_G -- not sure I need a new one yet. Last time camping with full hookups the converter fan did a weird revving noise (never heard before). I looked it up and it said to check the batteries. When I took the trailer back to storage, I added distilled water to the batteries and cleaned the terminals. Will be taking it out next week and hope the sound doesn't come back - hoping it's not failing (2016 unit so 8 years old).Michele, Tucson, AZ. TV - '13 F150 & '16 T@Bitha special order.

If your batteries were low the converter would have switched to full charging output and high fan speed. Probably normal operation.
But... if you need a converter, complete replacement internals are available for very reasonable cost.

The converter fan in my trailer (2015) sometimes makes weird noises too. It's just a simple 12V computer fan and if it gets too annoying it's easy to swap.
