Has anyone installed the "Game Changer" from Battle Born in the Tab 400. I have a 2021 Tab 400 Boondock and would like some advice on this upgrade.

It should fit under the bed if you lay it on its side.NorthernMN said:Has anyone installed the "Game Changer" from Battle Born in the Tab 400. I have a 2021 Tab 400 Boondock and would like some advice on this upgrade.
The bigger question is, what are you trying to accomplish with a battery upgrade?_____________________________________________________

The "Game Changer" has been mentioned once in this group about 3 years ago. I am the person in the thread being scoffed at when I asked "why do you need anything that big in a 320?" Now....owners pile in as many batteries as they can fit!It seems, for the price, the main advantage of that specific battery is the Maximum Continuous Discharge Current 300 amps....or, about 3600 watts. In your 2021 400, the stock inverter maxes out at about 1200 watts, so you would be leaving plenty of capacity of that battery on the table. Do you intend an inverter upgrade, etc? There are other less expensive options if you are not intending an inverter upgrade. LiTime has 280 ah batteries now that are priced in the 500 dollar range, and several other companies do, also.

I go strictly off grid and all year around. Often in the winter temperatures are single digits to well below zero and solar blocked by snow. I am hoping to not have to worry about a low battery issue. Interested in knowing more about an appropriate inverter compatible with current system.

The appropriate inverter would match what you devices you expect to use, so that would be the first question. In the newer 400s with the 400 amp hour batteries the Multiplus inverters (I think) are in the 3000 watt range. So, unless you plan some major electrical usage while boondocking, there may be no need for a larger inverter. A battery upgrade is certainly a good idea for those days without sun.

How many days at a time are you off-grid? What are your power needs? Do those needs include items that require 110v?
I have 400ah of Battleborn batteries in my '23 Tab 400 and a 3000w inverter. I have gone 10 days with limited charging from solar and still had 16% left on my batteries.
Epoch batteries offer some good options that would provide even more capacity. They have a 300ah battery that runs $999. Two of those would get you 600ah. They also have a 460ah battery.
And there are many other options out there for LiFePo4 batteries._____________________________________________________

It sounds like the OP may want to use the battery/inverter for Alde heat, given the comment on low digit temperatures. That could be a challenge for multiple days, let alone keeping the water system from freezing.Rich2019 T@b 400

Thank you all for the input. I did bite the bullet and installed the Battle Born Game Changer. All seems to be good, will do a true test in a couple of weeks. I do really enjoy winter camping here in the north. The system NuCamp has with the Alde and solar make it very comfortable and enjoyable. -
Please let us know how it goes!
