What are the requirements you say it satisfies? That seems to be the black hole question. Many fluids are compatable with the metal parts used in the Alde.
Do you have the yellow or blue/green fluid? Or are you changing over to the blue/green fluid?
For essentially the same price (for blue/green), why would you not use the OEM fluid recommeded by Alde? Shipping is a bit pricy.
Alde used to have a good FAQ that described the glycol to be used in the Alde. They wiped their whole page at the first of the year, and when I asked if it was going to be returned in a different format, I got a one word answer. Thanks, Truma!
This is the page from the Alde 3020 manual that describes the glycol properties.
There are several different companies that use this sort of "heat transfer fluid" in their heating products. There are several different "colors", etc. Even in our Aldes, many owners have stayed with the "Century" brand of glycol and skipped changing to the Truma Alde glycol. Since everything important about the glycol in the Alde (the corrosion inhibitors that make up less than 5 percent of the product) there is no way for us to compare what exactly we are buying.
In the last week, the Truma Alde product has been "Unavailable" over at Amazon. Checked again this morning, and it is "Available" again, with a delivery date about 2-3 weeks out. They have also increased the price from 56 to 67 dollars...for one gallon.
Truma is headquartered in Germany (EU)- 10% tariff. Additionally, in the last 90 days the US dollar has dropped in value over 8% to the Euro. Maybe I'm off base, but that seems to just about match the price increase noted.

Rhomar Industries is based in Missouri. (Rhomar is the company that actually makes the "Truma Alde" glycol.
I was wondering if the basic chemicals that make up the glycol are sourced somewhere "offshore"? And, given that the glycol "mix" is 60 percent distilled water, 40 percent propylene glycol, and that small amount of "inhibitor". Must have been a big jump in distilled water prices?
The Century brand of glycol has seen small advances in price, but still sells for about 26 dollars a gallon, at Amazon.
Oh, not at all.....the trade issues could also be a part of it. Or, a business who sees a chance to raise prices because everyone thinks the prices are going up on everything else, so...why not?
