I just bought carefree awnings and put one on each side of the outside walls, over the windows. They install like you would on a regular rv, but are sized to fit the tab windows. My next one will be for the front door, but I will make brackets to mount a thule across the front.
Hi. I see this is an older post, but I have a follow up question: Did you ever install an awning over the door? If so, how is it installed to allow for the door swing clearance? Thanks!
I've had good success with a Kingcamp awning of the same style as the Moonshade XL like @gkreitzburg. I sewed on the keder rail "ribbon" you can buy off of Amazon to let you slide it into the rail and that has actually made it easier to install. I just slide it into the rail, then put in the support ribs (poles) while it's laying across the side of the camper, then raise it with the the tent poles.
But, I've been trying to figure out if there's an easier permanent solution. I've seen one person on this forum mount a traditional hard fixed casette type roll-out awning, but it involved a bit of bolting and brackets that looked intimidating. I noticed that the Canadian Trailer manufacturer ProLite has something that I think is called a "bag awning". But, for the life of me I can't find it on Dometic's website. Maybe this is it? It looks like it's permanently affixed to the top seam of the Prolite camper. Not sure how that would work on the T@b.
