Securing the AC
Cherokee
Member Posts: 346
During
the the last few trips the trim securing the AC came loose. We kept
tightening the two screws till we decided to address the issue with
additional fasteners.
Mr Danby's now solidly attached!

How unusual. The trim piece on my 2016 Outback is just that - trim only - does not secure the A/C unit to the cabinet. Also, this unit protrudes into the cabin. The facia of my A/C is almost flush with the trim ring. I'd be concerned that the rear of the unit is not touching the baffles that separate the "cool" air intake from the side of the A/C to the "hot" exhaust from the rear of the A/C.2016 Outback 320

Perhaps they changed it since 2016- but believe me the trim holds an A/C flange in place and it moves more forward when the the screws come loose. Other then this, the unit has worked flawlessly since we bought it.TV:2019 Nissan Frontier PRO-4X With an Old Man Emu liftTrailer: 2019 T@B 320 Boondock with a Lock&Roll Coupler & Jack-e-upCustom fabricated metal bottom claddingCalifornia, USA -
My A/C (2015) was mounted as Tabaz described, but it was also a different make and model than what Cherokee shows. So yep, looks like something changed in the later years.
