Simple door trashcan mod. Installed Quick disconnects for the trashcan lid.

I like the door trashcan but putting a trash bag in it is a little tricky, and trying to get a full bag out is a huge hassle. The lid is in the way and not easily removed.  I found a pair of spring clips online that fit in the existing hinge holes. (Link below) I used a M6x1.0mm tap and threaded one sides hole. Installed one spring clip and bolted it in at the correct depth so the lid stays in like normal.

 5 minutes work! Less than $10 parts…

Now, I just pull the pin and easily remove the trash lid. I used one spring clip but you could do both sides, I recommend using a nylon nut or plastic washer to prevent metal on plastic rubbing against the frame.

Can you share what trash can you're referring to? Thanks!

@Jasbecker it’s the stock conformal trashcan built into the door that came with the Tab 320s. I modified the lid for quick release.

We took a different tack in dealing with trash, which is mostly generated in the kitchen. A bent coat hanger screwed to the inside of a curved cabinet door serves as a hanger for a plastic container lined with single purpose produce bags. It's easy to access, unlike the bin on the door which is awkward to access while working at the counter when the door is shut and is even more awkward to get to when the door is open. It works very nicely during meal prep - just open the cabinet door and toss scraps in. Photos should explain the hanger, container and liner. We use the bin on the door to store plastic bags and wine bottles.
