Refinishing our coupler

After six years our lock-n-roll coupler was starting to look it's age. (Note: a ball coupler can get pits and fade just as easily) We applied a wire brush, sand paper and cleaned with alcohol before masking. We used automotive engine paint to ensure good performance in the California sun. Like new again! Refinishing our coupler

    Good idea! I lay a folded yellow hand towel over my coupler for the same purpose. Works well unless it’s windy.

    The finished assembly with the jack painted as well. These modifications allow  us to go on dirt trails and camp 
    in solitude without any binding or clearance problems!
