2018 Tab 320 CS — Need help identifying valve positions for de-winterization (photos)
Attempting my first de-winterization on my 2018 T@b 320 CS. Thank you in advance to this great community for any insight you can provide on the following questions. Photos attached.
1. “Which valve is the Alde bypass on a 2018 CS | and where is it located?” |
|---|---|
2. “For each visible ball valve in these photos | what’s the correct normal-operation position?” |
3. “Is the yellow-handled valve in Image 4 the antifreeze siphon valve | and what position should it be in for normal operation?” |
With Sincere Gratitude
Michael

Thanks for the great photos. The hard part (for me!) on sorting these out is getting a good picture.
The place to start will be in the Winterizing Manuals section, which has the basic info from the Tab Manuals "back then". There is a section for the CS in "Winterizing 101".
The "Alde Bypass" is a combination of valves that shut off water going into the Alde hot water tank. The "Alde Bypass Valve" is the one that allows sanitizing or winterizing solution to get to all the other places they need to go in the plumbing…when the "Alde is bypassed". The valve that allows the various sanitizing or winterizing solutions to get around the trailer is the valve on the "REDBLUE" pex pipe that you can see plainly in your first couple of photos. In this picture the "Bypass is open", so the sanitizing or winterizing solutions can travel around the plumbing. (With the other appropriate valves "closed" to prevent those solutions from getting into the Alde tank.
The "Yellow Valve" is: the "pressure relief" valve for the entire plumbing system. It is also a drain valve for the Alde hot water tank. (The cold water low point drain also drains some of the Alde tank). If you forget to use a water pressure regulator on your water hose when on "city water", that Yellow Valve will pop open to relieve the over pressure. (Happens to a lot of us!)
In your photo: the "hot and cold low point plumbing drains" are the valves on the red and blue pipes. the ones that disappear into the floor. If you crawl under the trailer you will see a number of "spouts" for these gravity drains. The yellow valve "spout" is sort of clear, and the hot and cold low point drains are more of a black plastic type. Your fresh water tank drain is just behind the door, between the step and the tire.
I have had this photo floating around for a number of years now. Even in this thread, the discussion gets a bit confusing. Just keep in mind there are two "modes": Camping season mode, and "Winterizing and Sanitizing" mode. I';ll try to find the thread this photo comes from, I know there are many more knowledgeable owners about this than I am.
PS: Welcome to the Forum! Please don't hesitate to ask any question you can think of.
