What Is This Tool For?

Anyone know what this tool is for?

I found it in a cabinet in our T@B, and I know it's been there for years (maybe as long as 10, as our T@B is a 2017 model), but I have no idea what it is. Looks like some kind of wrench, but with some special fittings.. It's 4.5x1.5 inches & made of plastic.

PS: Add your own mystery tool if you like.

Thanks for any clues.

Yes! If you cannot disconnect your MC4 cables, usually from an extension, this tool presses the the little tabs on the sides. It is very helpful.

Of course! Thank you Jenn! And that shows me how long it's been since we've used our solar panel. I do recall how fidgety those connections could be, so now I plan to attach the tool to the cable, so it will be handy if needed.

    Thanks again!

Every one of those plastic "tools" I've ever used broke the very first time they ever attempted to disconnect an MC4. I eventually learned to shave them down a bit so they held properly, and could be disconnected by simply pulling them apart. On my latest panel, I left the MC4's in place, but added a short SAE pigtail and just use that to disconnect the solar cable.
