Victron IP22 Advanced Settings
Setting up a new Victron IP22 charger in a power station build. AI is saying to leave the absorption duration at Adaptive, but to change the duration from the default 8 hours to two hours. When questioned about cell balancing, it said that the two hours will get the job done. I don't have total trust in AI. Any thoughts?

Assuming we're talking about the ubiquitous RV LiFePo batteries with built-in BMS, I advocate for charging the battery with a constant voltage of 14.2V to 14.6V depending on battery specs. Every BMS I've dealt with so far disconnects the charging voltage when it deems the cells sufficiently charged and balanced. It doesn't hurt to leave the "absorption" phase at 8 hours as the BMS will protect the battery, on the flip side 2 hours might not be enough for balancing a battery that was severely discharged.
