how to mount a magnetic knife rack on wall next to exterior door

In my 2016 320S, I have trouble keeping things mounted by adhesive to the door-side interior wall when it gets full afternoon sun. (I have the Sofitel model, which has the silver-gray wall covering, I don't know whether it's different from other wallcoverings.) I was able to attach a cup rack beside the sink with screws, since that wall is wood, but how can I permanently attach something to that outside wall? Actually, I have a similar problem keeping a net pocket attached below the TV, the adhesive holds fine on the end by the bathroom door, but the other end behind the shower end of the wall won't stay stuck on over time; I wonder whether there's something generating a little heat in that wall that melts the adhesive in that spot. Any suggestions for either problem?

Have you tried 3m double sided VHB mounting tape? Be sure to cleans the surfaces with mineral spirits or alcohol.

I second the VHB recommendation. Some mineral spirits don’t evaporate completely cleanly. Rubbing alcohol is great for surface preparation.

The outside walls are an aluminum frame with Styrofoam between the aluminum bars. If you are trying to mount something to a bar, the outside temperature comes right through. That's why you get the nice grid shapes of condensation on the ceiling in the winter.

The wall behind the lavatory is empty except for the 2x4 beams. It gathers heat from the outside wall. I've tried stuffing the lavatory wall with insulation. It didn't help. My toothbrush holder still falls off every August. Good luck.

Thank you for your suggetions. I've tried three types of adhesives and none held over time, possibly because the knife bar is too heavy, and maybe I forgot to clean the wall with alcohol first, but three different bonds that claim to be "super strong" all failing in that spot? Clearly, it isn't the adhesive. It's the heat coming through that door side wall that's the problem. I've decided to screw on the knife bar below the cup rack that I screwed on to the wood partition next to the sink. I'm not crazy about the way it looks, but it will be functional. I dont' want it for knives, just the spice tins.

How about overlaying the wall with a solid panel you could screw into? The panel could be anchored with brackets to the underside of the upper cabinet for support, and could involve no damage to the wall.

I built and installed a small shelf unit in that spot and this is how I secured it in place.
