Hi. We just purchased a 2016 Smax yesterday! We need advice on good tire lock. And should we be using gorilla lock on tongue as well? Thanks! We are so excited!!!!!

I picked one up at a auto parts store for a good price it's the Claw. I also use a tongue lock. Congrats on the new trailer!Norm & Pat. 320 S Outback Utah or somewhere else.

I just lock my hitch with a simple bar pass-thru lock when in campgrounds. Use a claw when in the boonies.

I use and have been very happy with the Trimax wheel lock.

This may seem like a stupid observation, but it seems to me, for a wheel lock to be secure, you should have locking lug nuts. These are standard size trailer wheels, so someone could pull in with a trailer scissor jack and portable rachet gun, raise it up, put a trailer wheel on and take off. I realize you have to defeat the hitch lock, if you have one. I can see this happening when boondock camping, without others around.

In fact, they could use your spare tire, unless you leave it in the original spot, below the trailer.

Would take them awhile, I think that's the biggest deterent. If they're intent on stealing it, they probably will no matter what you do. The T@B is so unique though, I'm not sure it's a good candidate.

My spare is in the TV, so it would make it a little more challenging.jdargis said:This may seem like a stupid observation, but it seems to me, for a wheel lock to be secure, you should have locking lug nuts. Before moving, when my T@b storage was more iffy, I used a hitch lock and this wheel lock: http://www.amazon.com/Trimax-TWL100-Ultra-Max-Adjustable-Wheel/dp/B003E1GLSM/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1449713126&sr=8-5&keywords=trimax+lock It has a cover over the lug nuts which alleviates the concern jdargis mentioned. Where I live now, I am not as concerned for security at the new storage place but I still use the hitch lock.June; 2013 T@b "Fant@bulous"; 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee; one kayak and one bike
