Good to know PXL. I should be able to get to them during the week as I won't have time constraints.

Just got back from 1 night near Tubac, AZ to attend their balloon night glow festival. Stayed at an "rv resort" (not my kind of place but it was the closest to the festival and I followed my neighbors who were in their van). So if anyone is traveling in that area and want to stay at a full hookup site, here's a small report. No pic of set up since I didn't consider it a camping trip - but a wonderful picture of the balloons (taken by my neighbor)
De Anza RV Resort, Amado, AZ (about 30 min south of Tucson near historic town of Tubac)
One nice thing - sites were fairly large, view of the mountains
Restaurant on premise
Indoor pool, weight room, laundry
For the heck of it, I tested the little antenna that JennK recommended just to see what I could pick up --- turns out more channels than I get even at home - crystal clear. Plugged it into the exterior cable plug and put it on a piece of metal (it's magnetic and I read the metal acts as a "plane" - whatever that means!).
Not so good - close to I-19 so there's highway noise (my white noise machine drowned that out).
Balloon Festival was fun!

AZ- Parker - Crossroads Campground - BLM Dry Camping - First Come, First Served
(It's actually on the CA side of the Colorado River)
Location: You cross the Colorado at Parker and head north up the river road for 6-7 miles. It's on the right (easy to miss the entrance). Drive all the way down to the stop sign by the registration kiosk.
Warning: I wasn't going to post this because last year I tried to stay here twice but it was always full so didn't want people to go out of they're way just to get skunked. But, this year it's been only half full (less at times) so you may want to check it out if you have time. Keep in mind that last year I tried after the holidays were long over so it may fill up again once the snowbirds arrive but the host (Fred) told me it was even full early last year. I'd like to reserve the right to kick you out of #14 if your there and I show up :-)
Description: There are 8-9 sites along the river out of 24 total (5-6 are up along the entrance). Only 2-3 have full views of the river, the other 5-6 have partial views but they're right on the river bank. 4-5 are across the park road and have partial views of the river depending on what type of campers/rvs are riverside. I'm not sure a really big rig could even get into the riverside spots. #14 is the best spot in the campground (see pics) but, it's first come so even though I got it, I had to use a different site for a couple days.
Recommendations: Crossroads Cafe in Parker has great breakfasts. If you're a VFW member there's some real characters in both the posts (one's north of Parker, the other is in town). Walmart, Safeway for food/stuff. Good Ace hardware. Casino on the north end of town for you gamblers.
Cell Coverage: 3-Bars, LTE (Verizon)

14 you say? 14 is MY number. Always has been. (It occurs to me, though, that perhaps pxlated is throwing out a random number in order to throw us off the path to the most bestest excellent site #)...#duelingT@bsPXLated said:Remember, if there's a T@B in #14 I get to kick you out ;-)Sally, "PlaT@Bus" 2016 T@B Sofitel Maxx-S (plata=silver; SP), previously Little Guy 2014 Silver Shadow LE, TV -- 2013 Chevy Avalanche + two hounds. -

I know that wash - looks like you're just down below (and in a little) from the site I left the day we ran into each other. In fact, kinda looks like it's dang close to (if not the same spot) where I spent Thansgiving. Love the wash and the views.
You'll probably meet Gary, he's across the road and back behind the berm. Walks his black dog and knows many of the people camped in there.
Watch for the mother billy goats with their kids up on the ridge to your south.
Bet you're down there...
