Spare tire in a can

Many new small cars do not come with a spare tire. Instead they provide you with a can that seals and inflates most tire puncture. I plan on using something like that as my first line of defense against an on the road flat. I hear most tire repair guys do not like this stuff but that's the job. They are clean fast and safer than changing a tire along side of the road. That works for me.

So, you're not carrying g a spare? It would be great if that issue were resolved.Cindy with my 2015 MaxS (Puppy) and my 2015 Subaru Outback (Boo)

No I carry my spare underneath in case of a major blow out.

As long as your flat is not from a punctured or torn sidewall, these kits are OK. Campgrounds expose your tires to more hazards.

Someone once told me that an automotive tire shop wouldn't permanently plug a tire that had that temporary plugging stuff added. Don't know how true that is. I still carried a can of the stuff for 4 years.2017 820R Retro Toy Hauler from 2015 Tabitha T@B from 2009 Reverse LG Teardrop (but a T@Bluver at heart)

My old tire shop won't.

I have a Viair 450p air compressor with a long extension hose so that I am able to air my trailer tires as well as my TV tires. (This compressor is more than most people will need, but I also use this air compressor for airing up my Jeep tires after lowering the air pressure in the tires for off-roading.) I also have a simple Slime 2510 Medium Tire Repair Kit so that I can repair simple punctures etc. myself.Ray and Vida Barrick

I agree. My tire guy says it's a nighmare to work on them. He'll say the tire isn't fixable/pluggable rather than mess with the fix-a-flat stuff.Ratkity said:Someone once told me that an automotive tire shop wouldn't permanently plug a tire that had that temporary plugging stuff added. Verna - That's my shops position and they charge to clean the inside of the rim of all the muck also.
