Heating Fresh Water Tank

Someone did it - Last year - Haven't heard anything about it since though - Can't remember what the battery requirement was.

Keep in mind the following comments are for a T@B that has the external 11 gal fresh water tank, not the inside one under the sink.

I looked into heat strips like I used to wrap around the input water pipe when I lived in a very old mobile home as a grad student. The 110V strips (not battery operated) had a temp control that would turn them on when outside temps dropped.

I thought it could be a good idea for the T@B, but found you don't wrap them like in days of yore (fire hazard?).  Then the logistics of keeping everything properly heated started getting complex: the pump (installed in the bath, but on an outside wall) and all the external water piping as well as the 11 gal water tank and valve. I decided it wasn't worth missing something that needed to be heated and ending up with water leaks and damage (BTDT in a popup). 

In the end... I used a combination self-adhesive reflective pipe insulation and self-adhesive foam tubular insulation and wrapped all the external water piping. I also thought that if it didn't do much insulating, that at least it would be some minimal protection against road debris on the pvc tubing and connectors (seems to be lots of elbows under there on my T@B).
