What kind of tires do they put on the Outback? Nice setup vs. mounting on the side of the tongue.

It's a heavier, slightly larger tire for off road. I don't know exactly what kind. They welded a tire mount to the tongue frame to make it work for us. We just didnt see the point of a rack that was taken up wholly by the spare, so we were pretty insistent. They were very accommodating at Beckley's in MD.

I really like the tire mount. Do you know if it is a standard product they welded onto the tongue, or something they fabricated?

Beckley's did nice work there. That is a great location for the spare.

They are General Tires. I think they are A/T Grabbers. I will check when I get home.

Here's mine - bought at a marine dealer - It's what's on most boat trailers in my neck of the woods. I added a wood block to set it further out from the frame - allowed me to shift it back closer to the propane tub.

Pxlated's tire mount looks nice. We'll have the aluminum platform so I'm not sure if side mounting will work.

I did find a trailer place who will weld the mount on a la Redufresne, if I can get one somewhere.

Photomom, you could call Beckley's in Thurmont, Maryland, and ask them what they put on the T@b Outback for Randi and Rob Wall for the tongue mounted spare. Oh wait, maybe you already found it, I see above.
