i have wanted some power ports on the rear shelf in my T@B S...

i found this outlet on Amazon.  It has two 2 amp USB ports in addition to the two AC outlets.

it is mounted in the center using a height adjustable receptical box.  You do have to remove the outlet cover to remove the rear deck, but the outlet and box are attached to the center support under the deck.

I tapped into the AC on the outside outlet and ran the new cable from there up to the rear deck...

    Very nice looking install.

I have a similar, or the same, outlet waiting to be installed in the back under the speakers.  Just have to get out and do it (maybe this coming weekend).  A really good idea to have one back there to plug phones in when you head to bed.

States the T@Bpole has camped, so far ;)

I have been thinking of putting one back there that I can use for fast charging.

Ohhh, love it! I would love to have an outlet on the back near the clam cabinets. Not necessarily to charge anything, but to plug in a small clock back where I sleep. The TV or radio doesn't have a clock, and the phones are charged near the front, so can't just open my eyes and see what time it is. Have tried velcroing battery clocks to the back wall, but the batteries die within a couple weeks.

I did the same thing and installed a similar outlet with dual USB charge ports in the rear corner (passenger side) of the trailer.  I also installed two 12 volt USB ports overhead and below each speaker so I'd have charge capability when boondocking.

If they're wired to 110 like the USB outlets above the sink, yes.
Has anyone wired 12 volt versions in anywhere?

I believe some have tapped into the lights so that they run off the battery. I would likelike to do that at some point.

I like those 110v USB outlets for our home.

They're good in the Tab because they're powered by the 110v shore power. These USB ports consume current even while not in use, due to the electronics required to drop and regulate the voltage.

So one powered by the 12v system would be draining the battery with one more so-called 'phantom draw'.

I measured the draw on a couple of different cigarette-lighter-type USB outlets, and they each took around 300mA 'idling'.

The answer would be a switch along with the outlet.
