John, after you sign in, you can go to the post you want to edit, place your cursor somewhere on the post and a gear symbol will appear in the upper right of the post.  You can click on the gear and select Edit to edit the post.  As a last resort, you can back space over the entire post and save the blank comment.  I've done this once when I wanted to erase something I posted but changed my mind.

It was showing me 69 until I looked at it, now it says 70.
