DVD Video Quit Displaying

So, not the end of the world, but a disappointment, no less, my DVD video is not being detected by my TV. I suspect a bad cable. I get the sound, but no picture. I pulled the Jensen and made sure it was secure. Has anyone replaced the video cable before?

    No, but I need to replace the cable TV cable. In my search of photos, it appears that cable goes on the outside wall of the shower, and I saw a second black cable going from the front of the T@B to the outside wall of the shower in that photo, too. Possibly it was the video cable. The picture was one that was taken in the factory, but I sure couldn't tell you where the photo is.

    Jenn, I found the video cable's connection on our screen was really loose, from the factory. The cable is too stiff to absorb the vibration, so the vibration's transferred to the connector in the display unit.

    On ours, the connector (in the TV itself) has broken. I'm just waiting for the day it falls apart.

    I am wondering if it is even worth it. I use Miracast from my phone or Surface tablet a lot, anyway.

    Before getting into the wall to replace the cable, you can check to see if that's the problem by temporarily running a cable from the Jensen directly to the back of the television.

    That's how I verified my Cable TV cable is defective. I ran a cable from my Tailgater dish through the window to the receiver.

    That's how I verified my Cable TV cable is defective. I ran a cable from my Tailgater dish through the window to the receiver. 
    I just discovered that I too must have a bad cable cable or maybe no cable going from the port to the tv? For the first time since owning the t@b I had a site with cable. I got zero channels when I connected coax from the pedestal to the coax port on the outside of the t@b. When i unscrewed it from there and popped it through the side window and connected it directly to the television, I got 20 full HD cable channels and guide.  I really don't want to rip apart my shower wall . :(

    Couldn't you just take off the outside port (3-Screws) - Go inside and connect a new cable to the old - Pull the new cable into place...In other words use the old cable as a sbake?

    I haven't tried that yet, but it depends on whether they used clamps for the bundle of wires like they do under the driver's bench. If I can't pull a new cable to the present location, I'll drill out through the stud wall between the shower and TV and just put a new connection outside.

    It appears the current connection just has the end of the coax connector in a hex shaped hole in the outlet plate. I think it turns and if you turn it enough times, it will break the connection. I didn't try to brute strength pull on the cable, but there didn't seem to be enough slack to put another connector on the cable.

    Verna, did you ever monkey with this after all? My hex connector (bundled and tied together with the other wires by the factory) does not appear to have a place to plug in. Shouldn't there be a coax coming off that bundle coming out of wall that could plug into the back of the television? I am missing something..

    No, I haven't had time, and Marvin ran out of time to help me at Tearstock. I'm going to try to replace the end on the coax outside to see if that works. 

    Yes, there should be s coax at the rear of the TV. Mine had a 90* connector on it that was broken. Easy to replace that connector because it screws in. Take your bundle apart, wire by wire until you find the coax and see if the end has come off of it.

    @Verna did you end up having to replace the coax? My yellow video cable broke when my TV crashed and I took a look at the loom and wondered if the wires were taped together inside of the loom, in the walls, or if I could tape a new cable to the old and pull it through. If it's more difficult than that, I think I would just use my Bluetooth speaker with a headphone cable directly to the TV.

    No, I did not have to replace the coax. My problem was actually that the screw-on end broke off of the circuit board and was a loose connection for some time.

    Jenn, I had the very same situation when my tv came crashing down. I talked to Austin about it and he didn't think it would be a problem to put in a new cable. I do not have the shower so that will probably make it much easier but I have not tried to fix it yet.

    That's good news. The yellow video cable just goes back to the Jensen. Since I got a TV a with a DVD player, I might not replace the yellow cable, at all.

    The part of my coax that screws into the tv came off of mine. Not the actual wire, just the little adapter. I think I can get a new one of those, IIIRC

    Jenn, I had the fastening end come off of my coax also but was able to force it back on with a clamp.

    Probably a loose connection on the coax, that needs to be reterminated. A binder clip on the terminal may suffice in the meantime.
