Warmer interior light ideas?

So far, my one complaint with my new Tab is the horrible lighting.  Those LEDs are so cold and too bright!  A dimmer would've been nice. So we're thinking of adding some plug-in lights of some sort to the interior, like maybe some low-powered rope lights that could be placed on the shelf over the bed. If anyone has already tackled this issue, I'd love to hear what you did to add softer, warmer lighting to the interior. Photos would be even better!
