Extended Warranty?

Did you all get the extended warranty on your T@B?  Someone told me that if you don't use it in the time period it covers, they refund it. (That sounded highly dubious to me.)

The warranty they offered is seven years, full replacement on things like frig, heater, tv, sound system, and tires and rims (and tires and rim on my TV).

    Extended warranties are never worth it IMO.  Anything fundamentally wrong will go wrong quickly (within the warranty).  And, how can they make money if they refund your premium (that right there would scare me off).

    The refund at the end of the warranty if no claims are made is not unusual.  The provider did get to use your money for the entire period.  Still, extended warranties are generally not a good value.  The warranty (insurance) companies are counting on premiums exceeding claims. 
    Occasionally the cost does not reflect the particularly poor reliability of a specific product in a general group (ie: travel trailers) in which case the consumer benefits.  I don't think T@Bs fall in that category and PV-NuCamp has a very good reputation of standing behind their products often beyond standard the warranty period.

    I usually don't get extended warranties, however I did on the T@B. The LP cover cracking issue that they replaced under warranty last month, exceeded the cost of the warranty - so I am very glad I got it and still have 4 years left on it.
