Getting ready for our first Camping Trip next week - TOWELS

Only going somewhere in town! Figure we will be setting up and figuring out all that we need....will be bringing our note pad.

I did a search for towels as we have been discussing what do we do with our shower towels. I have seen one idea of hooks over the door which also adds privacy. WHICH we like. But thinking going in and out to use the bathroom will they be in the way.

Curious what else people do with their shower towels for them to dry out, and not be in the way in the cabin.
For example suction cups on mirror or something like the sticky command hooks.

I like to get wet towels outside as soon as possible. I simply extend the towel on the Yakima rack with larger binder clips. Works great.

That got me thinking: My thick fluffy towels from home are a bummer to store in my small trailer. I might go with something thinner like this:

I'm going to try these: a fairly heavy and thick microfiber towel. Lightweight, fast drying. And if they don't work out, I can use them to clean the T@b!

Nice find! Lots of styles to choose from. Had not thought about looking for Turkish towel options.

TabberJohn we use microfiber towels similar to what you posted. We got them on Amazon also.

Just look on Amazon for Microfiber Travel Towels and you'll find lots of sizes and choices. They do dry quickly as others have noted.

@bgssnmky My 2 cents...We've yet to take our T@B out but have "practiced" being inside the privy with them hanging and they haven't been a problem. I'm sort of a mini-sized individual but my husband isn't and he doesn't seem to have any issue either. Our plan, when in a spot for a bit, is to hang them on a clothesline to dry (there's a template in the files section on the FB group "T@B Camping Trailers: https://www.facebook.com/groups/24931511064/) and probably in the car when we're doing overnights b/c the car will probably be warmer.

I know people use and love the microfiber towels but there's just something cozy to me abut a fluffy towel...but that's me

I returned from my maiden voyage today and I'll disclaim this by stating that I didn't take a shower until I got home. Anyhow, I'd planned on using the tow rope i carry for kayaking as a clothesline. One end on the handle of the trailer, the other on the roof rack of my car. Now that the paracord fad is over, you can get them at the dollar store. Same deal.

@PXLated...we always hung a clothesline on the outside of our 10x10 when we had our Tear Drop; do you think anyone would have heartburn over having towels hanging on the backside of a T@B?

Just reporting what an NP Ranger told me as he was making some people next to me take down their clothesline. I imagine it has a lot to do with the disposition of the rangers.

I ordered a Turkish towel from the link above and I love it! It's very thin and very large, dries quickly, and folds up small. Plus it came wrapped in a gold ribbon with an "evil eye," which wards off danger. Some people are devotees to thick fluffy towels. Me, not so much. Maybe it's from living in the Deep South with summer on the way. Thin and light is better. Will be taking this beauty camping in 2 weeks.

I got a few of the quick dry microfiber towels but wanted a towel from home - this might be weird but I lay my home towel over my cooler (which is in the back of the truck). My cooler is fairly large so the towel doesn't get dirty by touching the bottom of the bed and because it's wet, it helps keep the stuff in the cooler cold. I use a microfiber towel for my hair - it gets hung on the wall in the T@B shower. I'm glad I brought my home towel and it's doing "double duty".

Sometime back there was a thread (courtesy of Photomom, I think) about a clothesline contraption that clipped over the T@Bs exterior handles. Assuming that the problem has to do with stringing clotheslines on trees (as opposed to clotheslines in general) it seemed like a pretty slick solution.

(This may be the same device Sandigogal linked to above. I don't do Facebook so I can't confirm.)

Trees might be part of the issue, but I suspect aesthetics are also involved. They want people to see a campground, not a 'homestead' or 'trailer park' so to speak. Again, I think it comes down to whatever bad experiences they have had with some campers. Worst that could happen is they ask you to take your line down, then you know.

The typical campgrounds we're in don't allow you to tie anything to a tree that's why we've always put out clothesline on the outside of our 10x10 when pulling our Tear Drop. We've also put them in our TV b/c generally gets pretty warm in there

Handy hubby is going to make us the wooden ends that go into the T@B handles so we can hang our towels on the back side of the T@B. I'm hoping these don't ever cause any issue but then again, I'm sure that would depend on the campground.

I usually have an EZ-Up set up somewhere, and hang my towels from the frame of the EZ-Up. If I don't set up an EZ-Up, I have a hang bar in the back seat of my truck and hang the towel over the hang bar.
