Small switch upper left hand corner of 2007 clamshell

Hi folks,

I'm rehabbing a 2007 Dutchmen CS. There is a small switch upper left hand corner of the clamshell opening that activates something - I can hear it clicking when I manually depress it. What exactly is this turning on or off when the clam shell is open/ closed?

Thanks in advance

That switch opens a solenoid valve for the gas supply to the cook top - a safety measure.  The valve is on the bottom below the furnace behind the left wheel.  The valve is actuated whenever the hatch is open and consumes about one amp.  Many folks add an additional manual switch so it can be turned off when not cooking to conserve battery power.
