Mosquitoes, Ticks, and Such

Hi, Everyone! Sorry if this seems off-topic, but I'm seeing lots of T@Bers commenting on the severity of mosquitoes and ticks this year in particular. I'm wondering what some are you are using to combat them, and how effective such products are. I've seen a few of you have posted about Thermocells, but I'm open to all suggestions!

For ticks we use Sawyer Permetherin spray for our clothes.

30% deet (100% is less effective, btw), Pyrethroids (as jc mentioned) and when sitting still, a Thermacell is your best friend. Doesn't work while walking. The belt clip is useless for a belt. We put them on the ground face-up between every other chair during get-togethers. Do not use them in enclosed spaces.

We carry a bottle of house/ garden spray and fog the ground at the camp site. Eat lots of garlic dishes the week before and wear long pants/sleeves/boots when they are thick. Dogs are treated and they get wiped down ( including paws/pads) with baby wipes before they come in the trailer. Knock on wood...

I work for Animas Mosquito Control in Durango, CO. We abate mosquitos in the larve stage to prevent flyers. But when we get into adult mosquito areas we use Off Deep Woods. The more deet the better.
