Removing Sofa

I am getting ready to re-cover the sofa back and will be installing the wire storage shelves behind/below the sofa at the same time.  Anyone have tips or hints for taking out the sofa back and removing the hinges for re-covering?  It may be a very simple task but thought I would see if others who have done this have any suggestions.

I completely removed the sofa and replaced with a full-time twin bed (a little shorter than normal twim) configuration.  Here are my notes on the sofa removal.

    1. To remove the sofa back, there are four screws on each side that attached the hinge to the supporting 2x4.  Remove the screws.  The are also 4 screws on each side that hold the back cusion to the upper part of the hinge.  These do not have to be removed to get the sofa back out, but you can remove them if you want to separate the back cushion from the hinges.

I found removing the sofa back to be fairly easy - Just unscrew the hinges from the mounting wood beams then lift it up and out.  Then remove the hinges from the sofa back itself.

Hope this is not too late to be of help.

Thanks @SteveW I did remove it (and it was easy), re upholstered everything (not all that easy) and put everything back (also easy).

That is amazing work, @foxden! For not being sewing inclined, this looks like a fantastic job! (Heck, even if you were a seamstress it still looks great - I'd never know!)
