Keder rail

I think I saw a suggestion of greasing the rail to enable attaching screened room and reattaching the black trim easier. I haven't been able to find it via search feature.
Suggestions?

I stashed the trim away so it can be reinserted to make it look good for resale. It does add that little touch.

I applied a very small amount of dishwashing liquid to a cotton rag and ran it along the cord of my PahaQue awning before inserting it into the Keder rail. It worked like a charm and slid in very easily.

My dad used to use bees wax when he needed to slide things like this in - regular wax or wax for skis might work also.

The rail on my 2013 had sharp points on each end. I took a fine small file and rounded these sharp points. This helped and minimized the chance of tearing the material and helped it slide in easier. Sandra's silicon spray really helps also.

I just bent the ends slightly and use silicon spray on a routine basis.

Saw these on another site and thought someone may find helpful to make your own awnings...cheaply.
The nylon spacers work better and come precut.
