Under Sink Storage modification T@B CS

As you know, on the CS we have all those pipes, valves and tubes under our sink, making it difficult to store anything under there without feeling like you're going to destroy something. So I made a template out of cardboard, drew it onto a piece of scrap wood and cut it out. Then I measured the tallest valve/tube and cut 6 feet out of wood. I placed the wood in places where it wouldn't interfere with the valves/tubes. In order to figure out where they should be glued onto the bottom of the wooden shelf, I put some lipstick on the top of each wooden leg, put the wooden shelf on and pressed down to make an impression. Took everything up and glued the wooden legs into place. Now I have a place to store my frying pans and a few other things, but if I need to get to my pipes and valves, everything lifts out easily.

I put some rubbery shelf liner material on top of the board so my pots and pans wouldn't slide around during transport. Works great!

    Nice.

I thought I would do something similar, but so far, we have just thrown stuff on top of the piping.  Mostly light stuff, like marshmallows, chips, towels, Zip lock bags, etc.

Nice job--a simple mod with enormous utility. It seems like it should just come that way.

Clever idea with the lipstick, too. I'm filing that one for future reference!

Great job, I am moding this area as well but as a tribute to the fine workmanship of the Amish I am making mine out of clear plastic sheet.  Pics to follow.

Nice job... but I hesitate to fully cover in a 2016 cs since the hot water drain is in that rats nest of pipes covered by the wood cover... I use closet maid wire shelving then can turn valves as needed

I have a 2015 and have seen photos of under the sink for later models. I don't understand why or how they went from my version (see photo) to the tangled mess you mention. It makes no sense. But as you can see, my under sink area is very organized so much easier to add the mod I did.
