Hinges on the back shelf of 2017 T@B

We have the hydraulic(?) hinges on all of the cupboard drawers on our T@B. We would like to add hinges to the back shelf that lifts up as it is currently awkward to hold up the shelf and search for items stored.
Does anyone know when I would find such hinges and/or has anyone placed this type of hinge on their back shelf?

Someone has put struts on back shelf to hold it up, but I can't find the thread, does anyone else remember?
Here is another mod to rear shelf you might find interesting.

I put together these support's for our doors. I  recently saw this same type spring support. In a new CS. Contact   Elsie at NuCamp. I like them much better than the strut type and they put a lot less stress on the hinges

When I replaced the struts on all of my cabinet doors with spring loaded hinges I installed the leftover struts on the rear shelf, one on each side.  They do a great job of keeping the shelf door open and closed.  I can take a couple of pics if you like.

Finished my rear storage/shelf. Top was angled when I bought and hinges forced you to open towards you!. Raised front of storage area 5", new hinges and next I'll add moulding along the front edge to keep things 'in place'. Hardest part was figuring out how to get seatback out of the T@B all by myself!

I want to see what you use to contain things on the shelf.  Do you have a way to hold it open?

@weaseldog, our new-to-us 2014 has that same angled rear storage area  with the lid that opens toward you. It drives me nuts, so I love your mod! A few questions for you...

Was there a specific reason you raised the front of the storage area 5" versus lowering the long, thin strip of wood that runs along the back piece? We were contemplating lowering the small strip of wood attached to the back panel but that little sucker is glued/attached VERY well so I think I like your idea of raising the front, but not sure how to do that. Do you mind sharing what you used to raise it and how?

My guess is by raising the front, it brought the lid up level with that small, thin strip of wood along the back piece. If that is the case, did you just turn the lid around and attach the hinges to that little strip of wood along the back piece? Or did you need to reinforce the small strip of wood in order for it to be able to support the weight of the lid being hinged and opened from the front?
