2006 T@b wheel hub flanged nut torque setting

I am replacing the brake shoes and bearings on my 2006 t@b. Need the torque value for the flanged nut that holds the hub onto the axle. Have seen several values, and only want to do this once, since these are "one time" nuts.

TomH, my 2011 T@B has tapered bearings and have loosen up from time to time. My approach is to remove the cotter pin, tightened the nut until there is no free play. That's not exactly science that I use, but adjustment by feel. If you find an exact torque, I'd love to know.

Thanks.... different type of nut on mine... it's a one time use, no cotter pin and you torque it down. For your setup, what you are doing is generally correct- your type are not torqued.

Tapered (all) wheel bearings need to be tightened more than just eliminating "free play" during assembly or the bearings will be loose under load. Often referred to as "pre-load". It may be specified as a torque value or an amount of additional turning of the nut past "zero clearance".
I do not know the specifications for the newer T@B axles.

Pre-load on my tuck front wheel bearings is 50 ft/lbs and that's what I've been using on the T@B for lack of anything more specific.
