Battery and outside lights issue

We just got a 2018 t@b s outback, with factory solar. We discovered when leaving the dealer that we had to have the battery disconnected on for brakes lights, turn signal, any lights outside to work. When we had disconnect off, nothing worked and was told they are suppose to by the dealer. We have a call in to NuCamp on this. Anyone else have this issue, any concerns? We leave in 2 weeks for a 2 week trip. Thanks

It sounds like your 7 pin harness is not wired correctly. Your Tab brake lights, signals, etc should not be dependent on the Tab battery. Do you have a 7 pin tester?Sharon / 2017 T@B CSS / 2015 Toyota Sienna Minivan / Westlake, Ohio

The dealer tested the 7 pin and when we got home we have the rv shop that installed it also check it, so that's when we called NuCamp on itTrey and Karen - 2018 t@b 320 s outback / 2012 jeep rubicon - San Diego California

Nothing is wrong. Your dealer is incorrect. The battery switch must be on, to power your t@b while towing. The battery powers your t@b brakes, lights and 12v accessories (when used). Your tv 7 pin should have an active charging line from your tv which connects to the t@b and constantly recharges the t@b battery while towing, to put it simply. When you stop to refuel, take a break or get something to eat, whenever you turn the tv engine off for more than a few minutes, either disconnect the seven pin or turn off the battery switch, because the t@b will drain your tv battery then your t@b battery without the tv engine alternator providing a constant charge. This is an average person explanation and there are others with more detail and experience to explain more clearly. Just didn't want your eyes to roll back into your head this early into the wonderful world of t@b ownership. Btw, welcome and congratulations. SO SORRY, misunderstood your problem. Your t@b battery disconnect must be on while towing so that you have emergency brakes should the trailer and tv separate. Power from your tv powers your trailer lights, brakes and 12v accessories. Mea culpa. May be a ground problem according to my DH.2017 t@b sofitel(Dr@gonsFly)TV 2015 Silverado 2500hd(Behemoth).
