Faucet in the new T@Bs help.

My partner and I just picked up our new Outb@ck this last Thursday and took it for a test run this weekend. We absolutely love it except the faucet on the sink. That thing is the absolute worst design I have ever seen! It has the filler part that is upright about 6 inches and then has a little curve. The water coming out of it is only about an inch at most away from the back of the sink. You cant do anything except fill a cup or bowl with it otherwise water goes everywhere!

I was wondering if anyone has found a solution to this or a new style faucet to replace this one with. Is it possible to replace the filler portion of the faucet? I have no idea what they were thinking when they built this......

    Get one of those sprayer heads and replace the aerator and then you can direct the water away from the back of the sink and faucet area.  You can pick one up for 2-3 dollars at a hardware store.

    Ernie - I had the same thought when I tried mine - "what we're they thinking" - On the other hand, if it stuck out too far it'd probably be in the way. The faucet they're using in the Sofitel model looks much better. I've often thought of having the thing replaced.

    Ernie, I tried to get tricky and replace just the spigot, and had no luck. I thought about trying to bend it, but I'm sure that would end badly ;-) 

    I finally went with what SgtJohn and Jenn recommended. Works great.

    I really wanted the sink that they are installing in the Sofitel. I not only like the faucet, I like the idea of the glass cover that gives you more counter when not using the sink. I have read so may comments about the standard faucet, I don't quite know why they have not changed over to the Sofitel sink for all models.

    I saw an Outback being delivered a couple of weeks ago. I would have ordered one if it had been available when I placed my order. The higher axle, body trim, Yakima rack, aluminum tongue rack and marmoleum flooring are just too cool. They really suite the T@B. For anyone awaiting the delivery of an Outback, you will not be disappointed.

    Thanks for all the comments! I think we will start off first trying the little swivel adapter. Seems like a cheap, quick, simple fix. I really liked the sofitel sink too. Maybe some day they will just switch them all over.

    We absolutely love our Outback! We had them throw in bike holders for the rack and they fit perfectly along each side of the tray holding the tire. The aluminum tongue rack works great for setting coolers and such on. We look forward to using our new Outback all the time!

    I am with the standard sink. I think there are so many little things like this that could be changed but might drive the cost up. Overall, I think they do a good job making changes and keeping costs reasonable.

         I changed out both handles. Installed  circular handles that prevent many mistakes of turning water on/off at wrong times.  I have to wash hair daily and kept hitting extended handles causing scalding or frozen head. :) They look and work great. Inexpensive fix.

    TV is a 2007 Jeep Liberty. Own 2015 T@B Maxx s/wet-bath white green. St. Clair Shores, MI.

    Bgkirk, where did you find that faucet, and is it RV specific? This will be one of my first mods!

    The  cheap RV  faucets can be easily replaced with better quality  residential units from any big box store like Home Depot. The variety is almost endless.
