Holding tank odor revisited

Just a reminder to old and new T@B wet bath owners. If you experience a sudden increase in holding tank odor. It is most likely caused by the water evaporating in one of the two  “P” traps. Either the sink or the shower. Just add about 12oz of water to each drain problem solved.

    If adding water to the P traps does not help, you can get a grey tank deodorizer. I have never needed it but it is good to know and might not be a bad move for the last outing of the season.

    Since the black water and the gray water share the same vent system. Black water oder can escape through “P” traps.

    So far, we haven’t had the “issue.” Partly because I like to take at least one shower while we r out and two the sink I said always used.  I also sprinkle a little tank enzymes down the shower Drain while tending to the blank tank. Has become my protocol against stank!

    We throw a flat flimsy drain cover over our shower drain when not in use.  The thinking is that it will reduce potential "P" trap evaporation and prevent air/odor backflow.

    It’s  possible that just the bouncing and pitching of the trailer going down the road. The water level in the traps could allow fumes to escape.
