Any mods regarding the addition of Microwave ovens?

     Hi @oddphellow, and welcome to the forum. If you search on "microwave" you'll see lots of comments and some are even about adding microwave ovens, if they're coming as standard in the 400, How to power them, etc.

    The only inside mod I've seen posted is to remove the AC and put a small microwave in it's place. The other option I've seen is a table outside the door by the outlet with a microwave and toaster oven.

    @Homebodyatheart and I swear I remember a mod in a CS with cabinets instead of the front bench where one of the cabinets held a microwave, but I couldn't find it!

    Before this mod, I had the microwave sitting on the floor of the driver's side pedestal (same location as below).  The Lagun table covered it when swung back.  The Lagun vertical brace kept it from sliding onto the floor.  I had a custom seat cushion made that fit between the door of the microwave and factory bench seat.  The only drawback was that the small custom cushion had to be removed in order to access the microwave door.

    Someone also posted a picture somewhere of a mockup they saw at the factory of a clamshell with a microwave mounted like they do in the T@G XL

    I am considering adding our microwave to the upper part of the clothes cabinet in our 400.  Pretty well found the space I need and place to pick up power.  Checked the back side of the microwave and it states not for built in application.  Want to keep the power rating or 1000 watts or better so looking at plan B.  We normally carry it in the floor and place it on a nylon cutting board over the stove.  Works great that way but would like to have the counter space back.  Easy enough to move it when it is in the way.  We normally do not use the stove but a induction cook top or the microwave.

    Atlas I might be concerned about using one in the closet.  The heat and moisture from use might effect the plywood paneling in such a confined place.
