Kia Sorento Air Lift or Sumo Springs

Hi, for those who have upgraded their Kia to help with the factory soft rear springs, which did you install and did they really help? I’m not concerned about the lower tongue/hitch but more the extra bounce with the T@b is hitched. It’s not awful but would like to improve the ride if possible. Thanks

Thanks, I did see this thread. That’s what got me asking. One liked the sumo, one the Air Lift and one added lift springs. Just trying to see if one solution wins out.

Definitely talk to dsatwork. I took a different approach with my Sorento and used a weight distribution hitch.Bicoastal said:Thanks, I did see this thread. That’s what got me asking. Did the hitch help with reducing the bounce?

Hmm, maybe a little. If you haven’t already, you could try a few things to help improve the ride. Increase the tongue weight even more (move the spare to the front, fill the fresh water tank). Try towing with the trailer’s nose slightly down.

@Bicoastal Just saw this post and thought I would chime in. I used the Sumo Springs and they did help, definitely takes the bounce out and at 225 lbs might be enough. I run over 325 lbs tongue weight and wanted more support, which is why I pulled the SumoSprings and went with the Air Lift coil spring supports. There aren't any leaf springs on the Sorento, so I don't know how that would work.
I still have the SumoSprings cut and ready to install for $50 plus shipping they are yours for the taking.
