Leak, excess turbulence if the Alde pump is turned up too high, evaporation if unattended ( they need occasional topping off). When’s the last time you checked the reservoir?1 -

It sounds like the toilet water supply line is leaking into the toilet and maybe the toilet seal needs to be changed.1 -
