@AnOldUR - most owners with dual battery setups are using 6 volts in series, so I am not sure how your idea would effect voltage vacillations. Good question for our forum electrical gurus.
But consumption has more to do with what size battery you need. Solar will charge whatever batteries you have (slower or faster). Even if I had dual 6 volts (so lots of capacity) I personally would not go to bigger/heavier panels.
@ontheroad, Liz I cannot remember where I bought this white two battery case, but the two 6 volt AGM batteries will fit in it without moving the propane tank. I guess we have different sized batteries. I’m looking forward to June, and to any camping between now and then!
Just installed a marine style battery switch. I like to be able to use one battery at a time. That way I know when I am on the second or what I call my reserve. That way if I happen to leave something on by accident and come back at the end of the day or wake up in the morning with a dead battery I just switch to number 2.…
I don't know anything about other boxes but I wanted to say that I have 2 6 volt batteries, the propane tank and the sewer house in my standard 2018 cs-s tongue box.
Looks great! Will you be boondocking a lot? And if so you obviously have a solar setup. I'm guessing with a couple of 6-volt batteries you should be in good shape. What do the refrigerators cost? Thanks for sharing!
Hey fellow Tab owners as I started to boondock it was really clear the supplied group 27 battery wasn't up to the task. The original interstate battery had 88ah and would get me through 2 days max and that is with good solar. The upgrade raised me to 210ah which should allow me to boondock for ~5 days before the batteries…
KY, no one has mentioned having the Duracell batteries. Sometimes the least expensive battery will not give you the length of service you would want, but sometimes they may be a hidden gem. I chose two 6 Volt Interstate golf cart batteries for my T@B because Ihave had such great luck with Interstate batteries.
Here is a picture of our new tub and batteries. Austin from NuCamp recommended not using the plastic battery box I got from Amazon to use in the tub. I used two 6 volt Interstate Golf Cart Batteries. Thanks to everyone that helping in both threads I started about this mod
@jenniferlzr and @Sonyguy if you want to stay with the 6v AGM batteries and can't sours the Harris ones take a look at these from GoPower, GP-AGM-224-6v.. Identical dimension as the Harris batteries and identical 224Ah. Our Harris batteries are still going strong but when I need to replace them I may go with these from…
