In my 2019 T@B400 (no solar) I just replaced the two original AGM Harris Batteries with a single Battle Born 100ah lithium. The original charger, 55 amp WFCO 8955PEC, isn't lithium compatible. Battle Born Rep offered a 55 amp Progressive Dynamics 4655V to convert the WFCO to Lithium capable. My problem was the factory wire…
The Battleborn batteries and pretty much any other "Lithium" battery for RVs are actually Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePo4) batteries which are different from the Lithium-Ion batteries that make for spectacular fires.
We just picked up a 2024 TAB 400 with 100ah lithium and 310w solar and took it out on our first trip. At the end of the trip when we got back home, the battery was back at 100% due to charging from the TV and the solar. I've heard it's not great to store lithium at 100% long term. We expect to go on trips once every month…
Hammick, thanks for the update on the newer lithium package TaB models, good to know. I was referring to the older, pre lithium battery package units, that had the external solar port directly wired to the battery, 2018-2022, as that is what the discussion was covering. cheers
You only need a way to get a lithium battery fully charged on a regular basis. That can be a solar controller configured for lithium or an external 110 charger. It doesn't have to be the converter. I have a 2013 T@B with an 90aH LiON Energy battery that I installed in Jan 2020. It works fine.
It’s a vent for the battery compartment. The older trailers did not have lithium so they required a vent. They may have gotten rid of it when they switched to lithium batteries. Usually they keep them just in case a future owner puts in a lead acid battery for some odd reason. I’ll have to check on my 2021 but there may…
No, you do not have to change your "converter" for lithium. Your converter will charge the lithium setup, but "only" to about 85 percent. Your properly configured solar controller can handle charging a lithium completely. What exactly are you using to make these battery readings? Which solar controller? Is the battery…
