T@B 320 Generator and tongue weight

Just bought at 2019 320 with the Danby overhead A/C unit.  I do a lot of dry camping in hot weather with dogs so running the A/C on generator is important.  What is the smallest generator I can buy?  I would like to mount this generator on my platform and am also concerned about tongue weight.  My Audi Q5 has a 440 lb hitch weight capacity.  While calculating tongue weight can you simply add the generator to the specified tongue weight?
So two questions:
1.  Generator size for a T@B 320
2.  How to measure tongue weight

    Quick, no research for you, answer to question #1 is that a 2000 Watt generator will power your AC unit. We carry ours in the bed of our truck, so I can't answer how much tongue weight it adds.

    @CrabTab and @JPatten The beauty and the curse of searching is you end up reading about other considerations like duel fuel genies, soft starts, campground rules re genie useage, placement if using gas to avoid inhaling noxious fumes, etc. The forum is like the internet for me, unless careful, I fall down the rabbit hole!

    @JPatten I have a bunch of weight in the back of our 320 so you should assume 50lbs higher than the measurements I did below all done with a full propane tank... and our Honda EU2000i which runs a small air conditioner fine.  Measurements made with a bath scale.
    • Empty fresh water, spare in back, no generator. 118lbs
    • Full fresh water, spare in back, generator on front. 165lbs
    • Full fresh water, spare on tongue, no generator. 177lbs
    • Full fresh water, spare on tongue, generator on front. 222lbs

    Our tongue is right at 300lbs. With 2000 watt Honda generator. ( under plastic tub ), 2  12volt battery’s. Bath scale is the easiest way to check weight. To get the most accurate weight do not place the scale under the tongue jack. Check weight At the ball socket.

    Seeing that expanded storage on the T@B320, I would love to get that and install it on my unit.

    @Ballermaris, the storage rack you see on @Dalehelman's t@b is something he created by altering an auto/truck luggage rack (goes into a rear receiver). He has a thread with pics and description of this modification. It does take some welding of the rack. He has done many and has earned the admiration and respect for his mods on this forum. All hail to the mod master! Some of us are not worthy!
