2010 Window Support Arm Issue

One of the window arms on our 2010 T16Q had the little piece fall out that locks the arm in a holding up position. I was able to take the arm apart and I think I have both pieces, the spring, and the 1" long or so piece that tabs into the slider arms and holds it up. When I put it back together it just doesn't seem right, and I don't understand how it disengages to let the window back down. Sometimes with the other sliders that work there seems to be more friction than I would expect putting them down, and I can see that the little metal tab sometimes slide forward so it doesn't engage, and sometimes it does it only partly, but overall they seem to work ok. I wonder if the newer Tabs use the same mechanism and are there replacement arms available?
