Tail light issue

When doing my pretrip inspection this weekend my left tail light had 3 LEDs that weren't lit up but the rest of the LEDs in the light were OK.  I thought I was going to be replacing a tail light.  When checking at the campsite they were all on & functioning properly.  Any ideas on what's causing this & what I can check for?  I have not opened up the tail light housing.

Only a guess,
intermittent electrical contact to 3-LED inside the tail light housing.  Those light could be flashing on/off while driving.

Believe the tail light assembly is a sealed unit . . . no owner access to the inside LED circuit board.  You'd have to cut it apart to attempt a DIY fix.

Or just replace the entire tail light unit.

Typically, if a few LED’s go out, the rest will follow soon. @Denny16’s advice to replace the light is good advice.
