Storing large items (Sun Shade) during travel

How do you store or transport your sun shade, carpet, generator, and other larger item to the campsite?  I have some ideas (Truck bed once I get the cap installed, on the floor in camper, on bed in camper) but was wondering if there are some more creative options.

Large Pahaqua awning on floor under dinette. Some lighter items in storage compartment under driver side dinette seat. Rest in the Tahoe with heavier articles (Camp Chef 2-burner stove, my camera gear, cooler, propane firepit, etc.) on or forward of the rear axle. No generator but thinking about it. Sure seems like a lot of options for the 2200W +/- gensets. 

Nothing creative here!

EZ-Up, chairs, rug, table, visor all go in the back of the truck. Inside of the camper stays empty and the bed made. Only thing inside is the step, and one small bin for shoes that sits on the ground next to the step.

We keep a Pahaque large visor behind the back seat & just a few items on the floor that will be used immediately upon arrival (door mat, 30A cable, cordless drill) but most bulky items go in the van.  We also have a tongue box for setup items like water hose/filter, chocks, wood blocks, Andersen leveler, jack wheel, etc.  In the van we have an ARB frig & extension cord, popup tent, 5-ft step ladder, small Weber Q grill & foldup Coleman stove table, foldup chairs, spare 5G propane tank, two 5G water/waste jugs, 10ft painters pole for a tv antenna & cell booster, tarp, clothes, etc.  We used to also have 2 bikes inside the van too, but now carry them on a rack that clamps on to the hitch drawbar.  And sometimes a solar panel goes on the roof.

If that's not enough stuff, we will be adding a new foldup 12-ft inflatable kayak with 2 duffle bags of accessories (life jackets, seats, paddles, air pumps, wheels).  With the two 2nd row captain seats removed (but usually in the past just folded forward) we can have up to a 4x8x3 ft cargo space in our 2005 Sienna.

We have our visor in an IKEA blue bag and it’s either on the bed or the floor of the camper

Large Pahaqua visor fits in the cupboard inside the door to the left in the CS-S.  Chairs fit under the made bed on the floor.  All else in the bed of the truck.  Try to keep it to a minimum, but boy we seem to take more each trip!

Pahaque awning and Visor in the underbed storage of our 2018 400 along with our fresh water equipment tote accessed through the side storage access door.  The back of our truck under a cap holds a Clam, water jugs, Large tote with Weber Q1200, Small Blue Boy, Large Yeti clone cooler, air compressor, tools ...

Most of our actual camping gear goes in the T@B itself--either in the underbed storage or on the floor. These are items that generally come out upon arrival and stay out until departure. The awkwardly shaped (and dirty) Q goes in the back of the truck, which is otherwise reserved for bikes, kayaks and other mobile toys. I have no use for noisy generators or smelly rugs, so those things are not an issue...  ;-)

Regardless of what you carry, I think the key is to make sure everything has a specific place, and that it stays in that place when not in use. With so little room to work with, traveling relatively light and developing a thoughtful storage plan is the only way to keep stuff anarchy at bay!
