My LCHW30 arrived yesterday and I thought I'd ask some questions about some confusing directions in the instruction manual.
Regarding the current sensor, the instructions simply tell you to route the hot output through it. There are no instructions on securing it - does it simply dangle from the hot side wire and not fastened to anything in the case? Does it matter which direction (relative to the wires connecting the sensor) it faces?
The PCB daughter board with the display is shown simply plugged into a socket on the motherboard. There is no other securing of the board, only the connection to the MB?
The photo library page has a small circular photo with arrows pointing to the PCB, the "back of the data jack" and the "time delayed jumper." Setting aside the fact that the photo does not seem to match my PCB, what is the purpose of the illustration? It looks line the purpose of the delay jumper is to change the factory delay setting if needed for air conditioner operation - is the other simply to show where you plug in to download data or insert some sort of delay timer?
The "Warnings" section says to "never solder the ends of wires you attach during installation" and goes on to make clear that this applies to all wires that may carry current (i. e., not grounds). I plan to use stranded 10 gauge for my line input to the EMS and typically tin the ends of the leads. Anyone know why PI says not to do this?
