Alde safety valve leaking. How to fix?

We’re on city water and, when connected and turned n, the safety valve for the Alde system keeps leaking.  Does anyone know what we may have done wrong or how to fix it?  We pushed it down and thee water stopped temporarily.  Then flipped it up - water flowed, flipped it down water stopped temporarily and started leaking again.  Turned the switch over (maybe one side was flatter or smaller) - stopped temporarily then leaked.  Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated.

@1991sb, are you using a water pressure reducer/regulator (40-50 PSI max) connected between the city water and the fresh water hose that connects to your trailer?  You need that to prevent excessive pressure flowing into the water lines, which can cause the Alde safety valve to open and leak.

Thanks everyone.  Rookie issue, I forgot to put in the pressure regulator when hooking everything up.  It worked okay when hooked up at home, but that had faucet control.  Have a plastic regulator that works okay, but I'm leary of turning it too tightly at the campsite water supply and stripping out the threads.  Shopping for a brass regulator now just in case.

Thanks for letting us know, @1991sb.  Based on other posts I have read, this is a common issue, but fortunately easy to resolve.  It is always helpful to hear the outcome and that an issue has been resolved.
