Pahaque awning strap goes to what?

I got the awning up on our 400 but what is this strap for? It would seem it is to tighten the bend in the front archway but when I tighten it, it rises about 4" up to become a nice tripwire. Any ideas?

Interesting. I have the same strap on my 320--and use it for exactly what you describe--but mine is attached much closer to grommet and thus doesn't rise up nearly as high.

On the occasion when it does stick up enough to be a trip hazard, I usually tame it with a well-placed stake or two.
