When your tow vehicle is rear ended

Son driving our 06 ridgeline slammed into by a young guy not paying attention. I believe the hitch absorbed the brunt but rear is toast and hitch destroyed, oem Honda tow harness toast etc etc. going to try to migrate over the my wife’s 15 Acura MDX.  It can tow 3500 lb. should be fine?  Truck has a 5000 lb capacity.  Son is sore but hoping he will get better and hoping the green machine can pull the tabbie soon enough  6 weeks to the unicoi trip.  Joy

Glad your son is okay, vehicles can be replaced but of course there is the inconvenience factor etc.
