Sharon_is_SAM I’m interested in everyone’s thoughts on the look of the flooring in this 2022 400. I think the “reclaimed barnwood” look really clashes with the Euro modern interior of the 400. Sort of like wearing a Pendleton shirt with an Armani suit. Are there other flooring choices available in 2022?
@gande I agree. That floor really clashes with the overall design. Even the floor we have in our 2021 with the faux wood look was borderline out of character. I really wish they’d kept the original marine woven flooring they used in the 2018-2020.
@gande - I do not see any flooring option listed on their website and since so much is now standardized, I doubt that there is a choice. From the videos that I have viewed, I think they got the color right. More importantly, the floor is all composite again (Transcore). Personally, I think the floor is pretty neutral and I don’t find it off-putting. I would be placing a rug at the entry, so that would conceal some of the floor.
I too agree on the flooring. Our 2021 was an early build and still has the vinyl flooring pattern they used on the 2020 model. I'm glad it does as I think that pattern and color goes well with the birch walls.
As a Graphic Designer the term "skeuomorphism" is used quite a bit in my world and it applies here. The attempt to mimic the look of a material usually falls flat (think granite-look laminate countertops). I much prefer the flooring to just have a subtle pattern or even be a solid color with some texture vs. it trying to look like wood flooring.
funny, i thought the floor was going to be awesome in my "on order" 2022, but now that everyone has pointed out the clash issue, I TOTALLY SEE IT TOO NOW! hahaha I will just add some rustic decor to try to tone down the more modern aspects of the design.
@manyman297… New word for the day! Thanks! We have a 2018 400 with the textured floor which I think goes better with the rest of the interior, but maybe that’s just because I’m used to it.
@TabbyShack…I’m sure you’ll enjoy your new T@b. They’re wonderful trailers.
This will be ny third T@b and yes I will definitely enjoy it no matter what the floor looks like I've already bought a few decor items that will help tie in the rustic floor. For example: Elements Set of 3 Assorted Mini... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B095KQFHVT?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
The original floor used on 2018/2019 was Infinity Woven Flooring, a marine deck covering material that is very tough, does not stain easily (tested with motor oil), and is water proof also. I was worried when the floor in our 2018 was replaced in 2020, we would get the vinyl floor used in 2020, but we got the Infinity Flooring.
I think this is a very nice floor material for a camper, but some objected to its soft feel underfoot, a feature I find comfortable, as we take shoes off whilst inside the TaB. Cheers
